Everybody was Kung Fu Fighting

What is going on with the investigation into David Carradines death?
I hear he was into some pretty freaky sh*t...
And now they say he might of been killed! WTF!!!
Here is something I read on the net today.

As the remains of actor David Carradine arrive in Los Angeles this week, a grainy photo of his limp body in a Bangkok hotel room -- in what appears to fishnet and a wig -- raises more questions about his mysterious death.
Photo: New details add fuel to the Carradine family's claims that the actor may have been the victim of a homicide in the Bangkok hotel where his body was found hanging in a closet.
David Carradine in his martial arts equipment in 1985. Family and friends have suggested that the actor may have been murdered - perhaps by a secret Kung Fu society. Photos of the actor's body - in fishnet and a wig - are circulating on the Internet.

The photo, which was printed in the tabloid Thai Rath, shows Carradine's body suspended from a bar in a closet.

Police said he was found with his hands bound together above his head and rope around his neck and genitals. Nearby on a bed is what appears to be red women's lingerie.

Transvestite fetishes and thrill-seeking can be an integral part of auto-erotic asphyxia, the deadly sex play that Thai authorities said killed the 72-year-old former "Kung Fu" actor.

But these new details also add fuel to the Carradine family's claims that the actor may have been the victim of a homicide. His body was found hanging by ropes in a closet on June 4 in a Bangkok hotel.

And while Thai authorities have ruled the actor's June 4 death as a sex play accident -- auto-erotic asphyxia gone wrong, some say the evidence just doesn't add up.

"The thing that I am really questioning is, how was he bound, and how was he able to tie his own hands?" said Robert Dunlap, who has interviewed hundreds of people who practice deviant sex behaviors for his 2002 documentary film, "Beyond Vanilla: An Unforgettable Journey Into the Wilder Side of Sex."

"This doesn't look like a solo act at all," he told ABCNews.com. "In order to have an orgasm, his hands would have had to be free. There is something very peculiar about this."

"You don't dress just for yourself," he said of the photos that revealed women's clothing. "Usually there is some sort of show and someone else is involved. It probably went horribly bad and they left."

Carradine's manager Chuck Binder has publicly echoed his own concerns.

How Do You Do It Yourself?

"How do you get a rope around your neck and around your genitals and do all this by yourself?" he asked. "My take is there was definitely foul-play. There's a lot of weird stuff that happens in Bangkok. This isn't L.A. or New York."

Gosselins' spotlight is getting too bright

"When I see magazines in stores it's really difficult. It amazes me there is an industry that follows you around and writes stories about you.

"Don't believe what you read unless you hear it from that person.
"

On its Web site, Us Weekly recently described an over-friendly relationship between Gosselin and her married bodyguard, Steve Neild, that "caught the attention of her husband - and has become the talk of many locals" in their Pennsylvania community.

People magazine's Web site quoted Gosselin as saying the couple have been struggling for months.
Associated Press

Kate Gosselin, co-star of TLC's "Jon & Kate Plus 8," says it's difficult reading stories about herself.

Recent media reports have focused a harsh spotlight on Kate and her husband, Jon, who star with their eight children on the popular reality show. In recent days, the Gosselins' wholesome on-screen home life has been called into question by reports of extramarital affairs. Both Jon and Kate have denied those accusations.

"This is certainly not what I envisioned I was signing up for," Kate Gosselin said.

"This week I'm on the cover of four magazines. One is true, three are not," Gosselin said.

The Gosselins are on the cover of People, Us Weekly, Star and National Enquirer. She described People's reporting as the most accurate.

She has previously denied having an affair with Neild. Jon Gosselin has denied cheating with a 23-year-old schoolteacher, and he has apologized for putting his family in an "awkward situation."

TLC's most popular series, which has been on the air for four seasons, attracts an average audience of more than 2.8 million viewers.

The new, 40-week season premieres May 25 with an hourlong edition.

Are you watching the pump prices???

About a month ago gas was about $2.05 per gallon.
as of today (5/15/19) it had jumped up to $2.28 a gallon.
Thats about a 12% increase. WOW!
I remember how high gas prices were a year ago.
Gas prices have generally been on an upward trajectory since early December,
when the national average hovered above $1.60 a gallon.
But prices are still well below last year's all-time high of $4.114 a gallon.
I Really don't think we need to see that again....
The increase tracks what's happening across the country, in part because of rising oil prices,
the switch to summer-blend gasoline and stations raising prices before the Memorial Day weekend, AAA spokesman Dan Ronan said.

American Idol

“American Idol”: Did Adam Lambert lose some ground to Kris Allen, Danny Gokey?(38)

Posted by Ardua Harris on May 12th, 2009 at 10:17 pm | Categorized as TV | Tagged as Adam Lambert, Aerosmith, American Idol, Danny Gokey, Kanye West, Kris Allen, Simon Cowell, U2

kris1We got a hot one tonight! Kris Allen, Adam Lambert and Danny Gokey all stepped up and made this a real contest. Yes, we all know Adam will make it into the finals (we fear riots if he doesn’t), but who will seize that second slot? The night started off with so-so performances from Danny, Kris, and yes, even Adam. His take on U2’s “One” started off strong, but slid into screechy territory. Danny’s song was forgettable, and Kris was too low-key with “Apologize.” The song selections proved the judges don’t have a firm handle on who the singers are as artists. For Round 2, the contestants chose their own songs, and each showed his true “artistry” (shout out to Kara!). Danny chose the perfect song for his raspy vocals — Joe Cocker’s “You Are So Beautiful”; Kris reinvented Kanye West’s “Heartless,” while Adam rocked it out with Aerosmith’s “Cryin.” Simon astutely reminded the audience not to “assume” that Adam was going to make it to the finals. And indeed, tonight the contestants proved it was best to check your assumptions at the door.

Who do you think will be in the final 2? Take our poll.

What did you think of tonight’s perfomances? Did you weep when Adam Lambert did “One”? Or when Danny did “You Are So Beautiful”? Or when Kris flipped “Heartless” around? Tell us in the comments section.

Don’t forget to join our live chat at noon Thursday at ContraContraTimes.com/tv or InsideBayArea.com/tv.

Now here’s what our judges had to say:

ALTHEA BATTLE: Kris surprised me with his version of “Heartless”, and he proved he has the heart to win this competition overall! I wasn’t too impressed with him playing the piano; which made his first performance boring! The judges’ song selection for Kris almost set him up for failure, but he came back fight with an TKO!

Danny’s first performance was full of good energy, and he sounded like Terrence Trent Darby, but his dancing was a bit goofy! However, Danny knows who he is as an artist, and his song selection blew me away! I really enjoy his powerful vocals, and he made up for last week’s performance; because after a scream like that, I almost thought he was getting the boot! Danny is a true vocalist, and from one vocalist to another, I appreciate his talent.

All I can say is ADAM GET READY TO TAKE OFF! Adam is one of a kind, and his vocal range is incredible! Adam is on his way to a very promising career! Adam is the leader of the pack, and I’m looking forward to hearing his album, because I know it will be full of variety, and great vocals! OK, Simon picked a great song for Adam, but his own choice was wonderful! Adam is a Mega Star in my book!

The contestants picked out better songs for themselves than the judges, and they all really did a good job tonight. It’s going to be a close call.

danny11COLLEN GONZALEZ: The battle is on for that second slot. Still, no one can touch Adam. He did some original spins on U2’s “One.” It came across as heartfelt, but still can’t hold a candle to Bono. Adam’s own choice of Aerosmith was almost like telling the audience, “Remember last week? Well, this is how you sing Steven Tyler!” He can do a slow walk to the finale, because it’s a lock. Overall, the judges picked sucky songs for the contestants. “Apologize” was out of Kris’ range and although he had his moments with it, the judges knew that was not the song that would put Kris in the finale. Thankfully, Kris also got to pick a song. No one knows better what this guy can do than Kris himself. I think everyone took a pause when he said he was doing a Kanye West song (I know I did), but that was HOT! All Kris has to worry about after that performance is Mr. West throwing a fit when people say they liked Kris’ version better. Danny also knows his own voice better than the judges. His rendition of Joe Cocker’s “You Are So Beautiful” showed all of his vocal range in one song. I liked that he stayed true to the original on the final notes. Paula’s pick had Danny trying too hard to be growly and just all around trying too hard. The judges wasted so much time tonight we didn’t even get to see the Idol footage of the boys in their hometowns. It’s always sweet when they interview people and the contestants tear up. Wow, instead we got judges covering each other’s mouths. The number two spot will have to come down to fan base. I think Danny still has that, and he did redeem himself from last week. Based on performance, Kris took the biggest risk of the night, and should be rewarded with a number two slot. Kanye West? I’m still blown away.

EDDIE ESTRADA: I am always worried when judges pick songs because sometimes the judges pick the wrong ones. This was definitely the case tonight. When Kara and Randy released their song choice for Kris, all I could say was “Oh No!”. The judges picked a horrible song for such an amazing artist. I think it was too difficult for Kris to sing, and he was struggling through the entire performance.

After this performance, I was extremely worried about Kris. I was even more worried when he said his song choice. HEARTLESS! I was so confused! But that confusion soon turned into enjoyment as Kris began to sing. I loved it! I was so scared about him doing such a modern song, but he wasn’t singing the Kayne West version, he was singing the Kris version. This was SO good! It was modern and hip, yet it was so artistic and beautiful at the same time. I am definitely buying this song on iTunes! Good job Kris, and good luck!

Adam… what can I say, he was AH-MAZING! He hit it out of the park tonight. In his first song he had so much feeling and passion. It just made it so beautiful and enjoyable. It is a fantastic song, and he did it justice. He is consistently good each and every week! His second song started out a little slow, but he stepped it up. Good choice, but I don’t know if this was his best performance. I am glad he picked this song though because he had both sides of his persona tonight. He had the ballad artist and the lovable rocker.

I hope to see you in the final two! In his first performance Danny was as boring as ever. This was his week to change it up, and in the first song, he didn’t. It was the same old, same old. Crowd interaction, moderate power vocals, and a failed dance attempt. Bad song choice in Paula’s corner, though. But when Danny sang his second song, I was happily impressed!

It was a very impressive performance vocally. Danny reminded me that he CAN sing. It was beautiful. He broke away from the norm and gave us something new to taste. For the final two, I believe that it will be Adam and a VERY close race between Kris and Danny (I hope it is Kris….KRIS FANS UNITE! “C” and “A” you know who you are!)

CARRIE HULTS: Paula chose the song “Little Sister,” for Danny. It was upbeat and had lots of energy. I didn’t like the little dance moves. They were a little quirky. Paula said that she wanted Danny to do something different and he did — bad dancing. I thought the first lines were too slow on Danny’s second choice. The ending was very nice and very impressive. It shows that he can sing.

Kris was all together pitchy on “Apologize.” It was not the right song for him. I didn’t like the tempo changes, there were way too many. Kris was struggling through the entire performance. I don’t think that Kris should play the piano. It detatches himself from the audience like it did for Scott. Simon dissed Randy and Kara good. “You can’t get mad at the song, when you were the ones who chose it!”

I thought, “Heartless,” would be a disaster, but it wasn’t that bad. I think Kris has a good chance, but just not enough to beat Adam.

When I heard that Simon was going to choose the song for Adam, I was ecstatic! I knew that Simon would choose the right song for him. “One” was the perfect song choice for Adam. He cleaned up well and I thought it was fantastic! Paula said some big words: “The next American Idol, right in front of me!” Adam’s song choice was “Crying,” and I agree with Paula, the winner, right there! Adam’s like a firecracker, sizzle, sizzle, BAM! The high voice of perfection. Adam and Danny, in the Finale. Kris, time to pack your bag, you’re going home.

TOM HART: Would someone please tell all the AI judges to quit being such a distraction!

Adam lost some ground tonight, hence Simon’s appeal for America to vote for him. Danny and Kris regained some of their popularity with solid vocals. I still believe Adam is an artist in a class by himself worthy of the “American Idol” crown.

Is Farvre Coming to the Vikes???

Childress, Favre could reach quick deal
Vikings coach Brad Childress traveled to Mississippi to gauge Brett Favre's interest in joining the Vikings, and whether that is feasible.
By JUDD ZULGAD and CHIP SCOGGINS, Star Tribune staff writers
Last update: May 7, 2009 - 1:39 AM

Whether Brett Favre and Brad Childress sat on a bench in the back yard of Favre's Mississippi home on Wednesday night and shot the breeze about the quarterback playing for the Vikings is unknown.
But Childress reportedly left the Twin Cities on a commercial flight Wednesday and, according to people with knowledge of the situation, the Vikings coach was scheduled to begin meeting with the for-now-retired, record-setting quarterback over dinner. Discussions about Favre wearing a Vikings uniform this fall will continue today, most likely in Hattiesburg.
One key topic will be the condition of the partially torn biceps in Favre's throwing arm that derailed his only season as a member of the New York Jets. But a resolution to that situation appears close -- and the sides could reach a deal quickly.
Favre, according to NFL sources, is agreeable to undergoing a minor procedure in which surgeons complete the cutting of the tendon. The recovery period would be quick, and Favre would be ready to go long before training camp.
Indications are Favre is as anxious to join the Vikings as Childress is to have him running an offense that includes Pro Bowl running back Adrian Peterson and wide receivers Bernard Berrian and Percy Harvin.
"I try not to get too caught up in it because I don't want to get too overexcited, thinking that he's coming and then all of a sudden he doesn't," Berrian said. "He would be a great addition to the team. He's a great player. He's done so much for the NFL by himself. He definitely would bring leadership to the team.
"He's been in the league for 17, 18 years and to have a player of his caliber come in, it speaks volumes for what he can do for this team."
The Favre saga took on a life of its own Wednesday, just as it did last summer when he decided he didn't want to retire and ended up trying to force his way from the Packers to the Vikings. Favre eventually was traded to the Jets, who released him from the reserve/retired list last week.

Texas woman with flu who died beloved teacher

HARLINGEN, Texas — The first American with swine flu to die was a pregnant mother and teacher raised in South Texas who was beloved by her special education students in a small school district near the U.S.-Mexico border.

Judy Trunnell, 33, who was diagnosed with swine flu, died Tuesday after more than two weeks of hospitalization, during which she slipped into a coma and gave birth to a healthy baby girl, delivered by Cesarean section, officials and school supervisors said.

Health officials said Trunnell suffered from a chronic, underlying health condition that exacerbated the otherwise relatively mild effects of swine flu, but they declined to elaborate. A family member asked Mercedes school Superintendent Walter Watson not to discuss her health condition publicly, Watson said.

State health department spokesman Doug McBride also declined to discuss Trunnell's other health problems, but noted that pregnant women should not be alarmed.

"There are a number of healh conditions that put people in a higher risk group where they are more likely to develop serious complications should they get any type of influenza," he said. "Pregnancy is not a chronic condition."

Travis Elementary Principal Pearl Guerrero said she still pictures Trunnell sitting on the floor of a first-grade classroom motivating kids with waves of compliments and an infectious smile.

Trunnell was using flashcards, Guerrero remembered, and when a student called out the right answer she would say, "That's right! What else can you give me?"

"She was just one of those people, very bubbly, always with a big smile," Guerrero said. "The kids reacted to her."

On the door of Trunnell's small classroom kids' shaky handwriting covered a sheet of paper with messages like, "Your baby's cute" and "I love your baby."

When the school told students Tuesday that Trunnell would not be coming back, some of the older students had questions, Guerrero said. Some wanted to know about her baby. Others wanted to know about her 4-year-old daughter who some had met.

"She was a young lady who had everything to live for," Guerrero said of Trunnell, born and raised in Mercedes where she taught. "She was excited to have a new baby. She had so many things to look forward to and now she's gone."

Watson, said it was like losing a family member when he was told early Tuesday that Trunnell had died after being taken off life support since her April 19 hospitalization.

"It brings tears to my eyes to my eyes to know she won't be with our children or hers," he said. "She touched a lot of lives here."

"You just don't replace people like that," Watson said.

Guerrero and Watson both caught themselves speaking of Trunnell in the present tense Wednesday on a campus Watson ordered closed because so many children in the district were staying home sick. There are no other confirmed cases of swine flu at the school and health officials have assured them that anyone who had contracted the virus from Trunnell would have shown symptoms by now. Trunnell had last been at school April 14, Watson said.

Watson was snapping photographs of crews cleaning Travis Elementary and other district schools Wednesday. He said they planned to reopen Monday.

Family members at Trunnell's Harlingen home declined to comment Wednesday.

"She was just a beautiful person, warm at heart. She worked with disabled children as a teacher," cousin Mario Zamora told WMAR-TV in Baltimore. "Those that knew her will always remember her."

Trunnell was first seen by a physician April 14 and was hospitalized five days later, said Leone Lope Cameron County epidemiologist. Zamora said she had complained of difficulty breathing and was put on life support.

Doctors knew she had a flu when she came in, but did not know what kind, Lope said. The area is undergoing a Type A influenza epidemic right now, and swine flu is one variety of that, he said. She was confirmed to have swine flu shortly before she died, he said.

Trunnell's death came as life in the areas hardest hit by the outbreak began returning to normal. In Mexico, where the current strain is thought to have originated, stores, restaurants and factories were officially allowed to reopen Tuesday. And U.S. health officials withdrew their recommendation that schools with suspected swine flu cases shut down for two weeks.

The only other swine flu death in the U.S. was that of a Mexico City toddler who also had other health problems and had been visiting relatives in Brownsville, near Harlingen. He died last week at a Houston children's hospital.

There have been 29 other confirmed swine flu deaths, all in Mexico. Hundreds of cases of the disease have been confirmed in several countries, but mostly in Mexico and the U.S.

Swine Flu

CDC continues to take aggressive action to respond to an expanding outbreak caused by novel H1N1 flu.

CDC’s response goals are to:

Reduce transmission and illness severity, and
Provide information to help health care providers, public health officials and the public address the challenges posed by this emergency.
CDC continues to issue and update interim guidance daily in response to the rapidly evolving situation. CDC will issue updated interim guidance for clinicians on how to identify and care for people who are sick with novel H1N1 flu illness. This guidance will provide priorities for testing and treatment for novel H1N1 flu infection. The priority use for influenza antiviral drugs during this outbreak will be to treat people with severe flu illness.

On May 3, CDC is scheduled to complete deployment of 25 percent of the supplies in the Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) to all states in the continental United States. These supplies and medicines will help states and U.S. territories respond to the outbreak. In addition, the Federal Government and manufacturers have begun the process of developing a vaccine against the novel H1N1 flu virus.

Response actions are aggressive, but they may vary across states and communities depending on local circumstances. Communities, businesses, places of worship, schools and individuals can all take action to slow the spread of this outbreak. People who are sick are urged to stay home from work or school and to avoid contact with others, except to seek medical care. This action can avoid spreading illness further

What You Can Do to Stay Healthy
Stay informed. This website will be updated regularly as information becomes available.
Influenza is thought to spread mainly person-to-person through coughing or sneezing of infected people.
Take everyday actions to stay healthy.
Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hands cleaners are also effective.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread that way.
Stay home if you get sick. CDC recommends that you stay home from work or school and limit contact with others to keep from infecting them.
Follow public health advice regarding school closures, avoiding crowds and other social distancing measures.
Develop a family emergency plan as a precaution. This should include storing a supply of food, medicines, facemasks, alcohol-based hand rubs and other essential supplies.
